did you know...

Cleaned, reclaimed plastic polymers from recycled nappies can be used in everything from shoe insoles, to building tiles, to the inners of bicycle helmets!.

why we're here...

We understand that due to our modern hectic lifestyles, the convenience of disposable nappies makes them the only practical option for most parents. What many of us don’t realise is the impact they have upon our environment – and just how desperate the situation is becoming.

Here in the UK, we only have around 7 years of landfill capacity remaining – notwithstanding the fact that we already have a countryside struggling with the visual and environmental impact of landfills, and around 8 million extra disposable nappies being sent to new and existing landfill sites every day – that’s over 3 billion a year!

The use of disposable nappies has increased over the last 20 years – and we’re set to have a bigger overall population, with the Office of National Statistics predicting a rise from 60 million to 67 million by 2031.

Disposable nappies take up to 500 years to decompose. To give you an idea of the size of the problem, 3 billion nappies would fill Wembley Stadium 75 feet deep – and that’s just one years worth. Imagine 500 Wembley Stadiums filled with pongy nappies. Eughh!
